About The Book

Pop Pop Looks Like Me !

‘Pop Pop Looks Like Me’ follows six year old Evan on a rainy Saturday morning as he waits eagerly for his grandfather PopPop to visit. Evan clings to a photograph his mother gave him, showing a young boy who looks just like him. That picture shapes everything Evan believes about who PopPop is and what their day together will bring.

When friends Aidan and Abner arrive, a small conflict leads to the photograph being torn. Evan feels hurt and misunderstood. Those feelings deepen when PopPop finally arrives, not as the young boy from the picture but as an elderly man with a walker and suitcase. Evan’s excitement turns to confusion and disappointment. He throws a tantrum, retreats to his room, and struggles to accept that this old man is his beloved grandfather.

With gentle guidance from his mother and a quiet moment with PopPop, Evan begins understanding that people change while the essence of who they are remains. Through clear language and relatable experiences, this story highlights bonds between generations and encourages empathy, acceptance, and appreciation for family relationships shaped by time and love.
